Principal's Page

Dear Lincoln Families,

It was wonderful meeting many of you at our July Family Reading Event. It was a fun night and a great way to connect within the Lincoln community. If you were unable to attend, we have one more Family Reading Event and BBQ on August 10th. More information will be shared as we get closer to the event.
I have enjoyed my first month at Lincoln. There has been a lot of learning for me as well as work preparing for our students to walk through the doors on August 24th. Teachers have been busy with their own summer learning and preparing their classrooms for the start of the school year. I have had the opportunity to meet with most staff members. We are so fortunate to have such dedicated educators here at Lincoln!
I would like to share a little about myself. I grew up not far from here in Elmhurst. My dad was a high school chemistry and physics teacher, so teaching has always been in my blood. I have had a variety of experiences as an educator – as an instructional aide, teaching third, fourth and fifth grade for 19 years, and these past five years as an Instructional Support Coach at Bell Graham Elementary School. I have loved each of these roles and have used all of those experiences to become a better educator.
I live in the St. Charles school district with my husband and two daughters. My older daughter is a junior at Iowa State University, majoring in Industrial Engineering. My younger daughter will be a senior at St. Charles East High School this year, so we have been amping up the college visits this summer! Both girls attended D303 schools starting in kindergarten and have become well-rounded young ladies because of their school experiences and opportunities.
I am honored to have been chosen as the principal of Lincoln Elementary School. I look forward to learning more about the Lincoln students and families. I would like to invite you to drop by the office to introduce yourself and ask any questions you might have. Below are some “open house” times when you can drop in to chat. These will be open for anyone to stop by, so if you feel that you would like your own personal time to talk please contact me and we will find a time that works for your schedule.
Open House times:
Friday, August 5th 9:00 – 10:00 AM
Thursday, August 11th 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Monday, August 15th 1:00 – 2:30 PM
Please do not hesitate to call or email me with any questions or concerns that you might have.
